The following terms and conditions apply to the use of and transactions conducted through this website, www.dormsmart.com. Use of this site implies your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Gift Certificate Terms

Gift certificates can be used to purchase any items available on DormSmart.com except other gift certificates. Gift certificates are in U.S. dollars. Gift certificates cannot be used or redeemed anywhere except on the Site. Gift certificates cannot be used or redeemed without the authorized claim code, cannot be redeemed for cash, cannot be replaced if they are lost or stolen, cannot be used or redeemed towards previous purchases, cannot be used or redeemed to purchase other gift certificates, cannot be resold, and are not refundable. Any purchase less than the value of a gift certificate causes the unused balance to be placed in the account of the gift certificate recipient for use in a future transaction. Any purchase exceeding the value of a gift certificate requires the use of a valid credit card or DormSmart.com payment option to complete the transaction. Gift Certificates do not expire. We reserve the right to change the gift certificate terms and conditions from time to time at our sole discretion.

Delivery of Notices

All notices from DormSmart.com, L.L.C. to you may be posted on our website and will be deemed delivered within thirty (30) days after posting or delivered by email or US Postal Service to your address of record. Notices from you to DormSmart.com, L.L.C. shall be made by US Postal Service mail to our address at 1401 S Walton Blvd. Suite 9-143, Bentonville, AR, 72712-2681.

Fraudulent Chargebacks and Cyberbullying Notice

Fraudulent chargebacks and cyberbullying for free product or monetary gain have become much too commonplace on the internet. Therefore, it is our decision to set an example for others by taking a strong stance against individuals or entities that are intent on receiving free product or undue monies by filing a fraudulent chargeback or using cyberbullying tactics. For the purpose of this legal notice a fraudulent chargeback is defined as a transaction that is authorized by an individual or entity on their credit card then later fraudulently reversed by said individual or entity to obtain free product. Cyberbullying for the purpose of this legal notice is defined as the use of the internet or other technological means to post or send veiled threats, unveiled threats, untruthful statements, or misleading statements about DormSmart.com to extort free product or undue monies. Because this unsavory behavior leads to increased costs to businesses and legitimate consumers, including job loss, DormSmart.com will defend ourselves vigorously against such attacks, through any and all legal means available, both criminal and civil. In addition, complaints will be filed with any ISP or hosting service, any entity being used by said violators during the course of these activities.

Order Processing Information

So you've finished the checkout and payment process and are wondering what happens next...

Step 1: Order Confirmations / Receipts

You will receive an order confirmation / receipt for your purchase from DormSmart. If you paid by PayPal, you may receive an additional receipt from them. If you did not receive a receipt, check your spam mailbox or log into your account to print one or check the status of your order.

Step 2: Order Processing Times

Our manufacturers process orders Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. If your order is received on a business day before 11:00 a.m. EST, the order begins processing that day. Orders received after 11:00 a.m. EST begin processing on the next business day. It is our goal to get your order to you as quickly as possible.

Cancellation Notice...

We understand that sometimes you just change your mind. However, once an order begins processing with the manufacturer for shipment, it cannot be cancelled. It will have to be handled as per our Return Policy. So if you change your mind, let us know as soon as possible.

If you paid by eCheck...

Your order will process and ship when the funds clear. It can take several business days for your eCheck transfer to complete. The funds are not available to DormSmart during that time, (generally 4 business days in the US).

If you purchased an email gift certificate...

It will be automatically sent to the designated recipient's email address at the time of purchase. Please note that spam filter settings, at times, place the gift certificate in the junk email folder.

If you purchased via our Online LayAway Program...

Your order will process and ship upon receipt of the final payment.
 

Step 3: Ship Times

Estimated ship times for each product is always listed on the product page under the Shipping Information tab. The product listing states the number of days it typically takes to leave the warehouse and the number of days it typically takes to reach you (in transit). We will send tracking information for each item in your order. If there has been a change to the ship time, DormSmart will contact you as we are made aware of it by the manufacturer. We make it our job to track each and every item in your order until it reaches its final destination.

Please note RUSH/OVERNIGHT SHIPPING does not expedite order processing times, only the time it takes for your product to arrive once it has shipped. Please check your product listing for the appropriate processing time to plan accordingly. In addition, overnight shipping ordered after business hours begins processing on the next business day. We have no control over carrier business hours.

Product Origin (USA Made Or Import)

We understand that shoppers want to know the origin of a product, specifically whether or not it is made in the USA. Team DormSmart does our very best to accurately obtain and provide this information as a value added service to our shoppers. However, from time to time, manufacturers change their processes and there may be a delay in relaying that information to their retailers. Be advised that DormSmart updates product listings as soon as we are notified of the change. While it is rare that a product listing becomes outdated, concerned shoppers are encouraged to contact us prior to purchasing to confirm the product origin. We guess could be spin words to prevent outrageous claims of false advertising but we prefer to think our shoppers appreciate the fact that we always try to go above and beyond for them.

It is important to note that DormSmart.com only carries products that are made in the USA or imported by a US based distributor who creates jobs across America, meaning we do not directly import products that cut out American jobs or fail to support small businesses across America (the backbone of America's economy).

Fair and Simple 30-Day Return Policy

We offer a FAIR & SIMPLE 30 DAY RETURN POLICY to give customers ample time to evaluate and return product. We will refund the amount you paid for your product, less our original shipping cost. We never charge manufacturer restocking fees to our customers, rather we absorb them. We do not profit from returns. Please be aware of the following details about returns as they must be applied consistently to all customers:

    • A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is REQUIRED of all returns.
    • All return requests must be in writing. Please see How to Request a Return (RMA).
    • Returns must be received within 30 Days of Delivery, the date the carrier delivered the item(s).
    • For item(s) marked FREE Shipping, our original shipping cost will be deducted from your refund. This is the actual cost charged by FedEx, UPS, or USPS Priority Mail Services that we incurred to deliver the product to you.
    • You are responsible for the cost of shipping and tracking your return to the warehouse designated in the RMA.
    • Returned items must be in new condition, unassembled, and in their original manufacturer packaging.
    • We cannot refund custom, personalized, monogrammed, perishable, used, laundered, or soiled products.
    • Refunds are made to the original payment source once returned item(s) are received and inspected, 1 to 2 weeks.
    • If you received a damaged or incorrect item. Please read If Your Shipment is Damaged or Incorrect.

Important Notice About Attempting Unauthorized Returns. For the purpose of this notice, an unauthorized return is defined as purchased items that do not fall within the parameters of DormSmart's Fair & Simple 30-Day Return Policy, outlined above.

How to Request a Return (RMA):

    • Login to your account.
    • Under Order Status select "View Details"
    • Select "Request New RMA"
    • Complete Form & Submit - Be sure to provide any useful details in the comments section.
    • We will provide you with a Manufacturer RMA and Shipping Address (typically 2 business days).

If Your Shipment is Damaged or Incorrect

If you receive a damaged product or incorrect item in your order, please notify us within 7 days or sooner by calling 1-877-616-DORM (3676) or login to your account and leaving us a detailed message, including the best way to reach you. We will work quickly to remedy the situation at no cost to you. We have a limited amount of time to notify freight and shipping services of items damaged in transit.

Manufacturer's Warranty

All items sold on this website are new and subject to their manufacturer warranty once the item is in use or exceeds DormSmart.com's 30 Day Return Period, whichever occurs first.

Sales Tax

DormSmart.com, L.L.C., only charges sales tax for merchandise ordered on this website and delivered within the State of Arkansas. Sales tax is calculated based on the applicable Arkansas State and Local Sales Tax Rates.

Shipping & Delivery

Free Shipping on Purchases Delivered Within Continental US

At DormSmart, we factor in all costs, including delivery within the continental US before pricing our products. Free Shipping means we ship purchases to destinations within the 48 Continental US States for the listed product price using UPS Standard Ground, FedEx Standard Ground, or USPS Priority Mail Services with an average transit time of 1 to 5 business days. Our goal is to provide customers with our lowest possible delivered price without compromising service. This means we only use proven shipping methods that provide fast, safe, reliable, and trackable deliveries to our customers.

**IMPORTANT Free Shipping Exclusions: Free Shipping excludes shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, Outlying US Territories, International Locations, APO/FPO addresses, and Product Returns (Fair and Simple 30-Day Return Policy).

How to Ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Outlying US Territories & International Locations

For shipments to Hawaii, Alaska, Outlying US Territories and International Locations, DormSmart has partnered with Bongo International, additional shipping charges apply.

Bongo International provides customers with their very own US address. Your new address allows you to buy items online from US retailers and have them shipped to your country. Once Bongo receives your items for processing, they will provide you with a Tracking Link for your shipment.

Shipments to APO/FPO Addresses

Unfortunately, our manufacturers are unable to ship to APO/FPO addresses at this time. We are attempting to come up with a solution to serve our troops.

Campus Direct Shipments

Just provide your personal package delivery "ship to" address provided by your college or university mail center. We are unable to guarantee exact delivery dates with USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, or FedEx Ground. Remember to check with your school housing office regarding if, when, and where packages may be delivered to your campus.

Rush Shipments

Often times, the additional cost of a RUSH Shipment is unnecessary and NO Retailer can guarantee the delivery of your items once they leave their warehouse. Think of it this way. When you give a classmate your term paper to turn in for you... do you have control over that term paper once you hand it off or does your classmate? It's best to contact us with the items you want to order, the delivery address, and desired delivery date so that we can give you an accurate idea of the true delivery time and cost associated with an expedited delivery of your items.

Please note RUSH/OVERNIGHT SHIPPING does not expedite order processing times, only the time it takes for your product to arrive once it has shipped.   • You can login to your account 24/7 to check the status of your order, track your shipments, request a Return Authorization (RMA), or use the message center to send messages to and retrieve messages from Team DormSmart. Your account creates a personalized customer center specific to your transactions and a record of all communications.

  • You can call us Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. CST or Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST at 1-877-616-DORM. Because we choose to give each customer personalized attention from one of our staff or interns located here in the USA, you may be asked to leave a detailed message during peak dorm season. Rest assured we will get back to you within the business day, giving you our full attention as well; OR

  • You may use our contact us form 24/7.

Regardless of the method you choose, you will receive the same personalized attention. Remember to provide as much detail as possible such as your order number, the email address used to place your order, the nature of your request, and the best way to reach you.

Tech Support for Shoppers

PROBLEM: I'm Unable to Receive Emails from DormSmart.com or Login to My Account

If you are unable to login to your account and are not receiving emails from DormSmart.com, about 99.999% of the time, this means:

  • Your email address may have been incorrectly inputted when registering or placing your order; OR

  • Another email address was used at the time you placed your order.

Either way, please use the Contact Us Form to provide the correct email address so that we can validate your email and/or make any necessary corrections inside your account. Please include identifying details such as your name, a phone number where you can be reached, the address you used when placing your order, the order number or amount... DO NOT register as a new user.

Also, be sure to add customerservice@dormsmart.com to your approved senders list in your email software so our messages are not forwarded to your Junk/Spam email folder or rejected by your ISP.

PROBLEM: I'm Unable to Checkout

There are a number of reasons this may occur:

  1. Are you selecting the "Complete Payment" button at the bottom right of the checkout page to complete the process?

  2. Have you cleared your browser cache recently?

    If not...
    • Logout of your account;

    • Clear your cache;

    • Login to your account;

    • Scroll down to Saved Carts;

    • Select Continue Order.

  3. If using IE9, did you try switching to compatibility mode? To do so just click on the broken paper image on your address bar, refresh your browser, then try again.

  4. Are you receiving a message from PayPal stating they are unable to use your current funding source? This can occur for two reasons, your credit card company is denying payment OR you have previously registered your credit or debit card under a PayPal account. In the latter instance, PayPal is attempting to protect you from fraud. This in no way is related to DormSmart.com so you will need to contact PayPal directly at 1-888-215-5506 to have your credit card unlinked or select another payment option.

  5. If all else fails, contact us and we will be happy to send an electronic invoice so that you can make payment on line.
